Cultural Tip of the Day
As a nurse, you will be taking care of a wide variety of patients. Many of those patients will be from a different culture or ethnical background with different beliefs. We need to provide culturally competent care; meaning we need to consider the cultural background of our patients to provide appropriate care. To help us learn about different cultures & ethnic backgrounds, you are to prepare a 3–5-minute presentation on your chosen culture/ ethnic background, using a visual aid for assistance. You will research cultural events relating to healthcare practices, ethical beliefs, or practices. You may present your information in a PowerPoint, or bring in visual aids like ethnic clothing, food, or whatever you can think of. Be creative! If you utilize any references, make sure to cite them. This assignment is 10 points.
