Analytical Questions for Writing Assignment #5, Loewen, Chapter 8

After reading Chapter 8 in Lies My Teacher Told Me, answer the “analysis” portion of this writing assignment by answering the questions below:

1. Explain the two approaches that Loewen says guide college courses and textbooks when analyzing U.S. actions overseas.
2. Explain why Loewen takes issue with the fact that textbooks rarely mention multinational companies like Walmart or Mitsubishi?
3. In a paragraph, provide your assessment of Loewen’s argument. Do you agree or disagree with his central thesis? Why or why not?
