Main task

Freedonia is a tiny nation for which there is no reliable information of its geographical location, although it is widely known that it is a neighboring rival of Sylvania. Political and economic crisis has gripped Fredonia and Sylvania for quite some time. Cynicism, buffoonery, anarchy, disrespect for political institutions and leadership runs high. The Laws of the Administration of Fredonia are a scandal. The nation is known for the absurdity of government and lack of diplomacy. For those reasons, Freedonia has been experiencing financial difficulties that led to it declaring bankruptcy two years ago, moment during which the wealthiest lady in the country, rich widow Mrs. Teasdale, patriotically intervened to save the nation´s finances with one single condition: that Rufus T. Firefly was elected president to lead the nation

out of distress. Immediately after his declaration, the president begun his

president of Freedonia true to his promises, deepening the economic crisis with harmful measures, and causing an unnecessary diplomatic incident ambassador Trentino of Sylvania.

Tired of poor results and continuous personal and political disappointments, Mrs. Teasdale has forced his excellency to call for elections, thus putting an end to a long tradition of authoritarian tyrannic rulers running the nation for centuries. After a heated debate at the parliament, elections are finally approved and planned for the 1st of January, 6 months from today.

The president has decided to create a new political party, PBF (Party of the Brave and Free), with the goal of winning the upcoming elections, and has appointed you as reelection campaign project manager. You have been given 1 million Freedonian Dollars as a budget, which you will be allowed to use to fund your project during the 6 months that the campaign will last: project team salaries, costs of activities, consultants, etc.

To plan and manage the campaign from today until the elections date, you will need to organize all sorts of activities required: running candidate presentation events, political rallies, visiting the nation’s cities, institutions, schools, universities, drafting a political program (political platform), preparing propaganda, tv ads, posters, events, etc. In other words, let your imagination run and prepare a plan of activities that will allow Mr. Firefly to win the elections.

Assignment: Define a project plan for the campaign, which will need to include at least the following components:

· Scope plan including a WBS.

· A time plan including a Gantt chart of the campaign.

· A costs management plan including a full budget.

· A risk management plan.

· A communications and stakeholders management plan.

· Any other components that you deem necessary to run your project.

You can make assumptions whenever you don´t know details necessary for your plan (such as the specific cost of activities, etc).
