Periods of Development Fact Sheets

• Five periods of development: Prenatal, Infancy and Toddlerhood, Early Childhood, Middle Childhood, and Adolescence. 
• For your assignment this week, you will start to develop the content that you will add to these periods by creating five fact sheets that highlight physical, language, and cognitive development for each of the five periods of development listed above. You can choose to create your fact sheets as PDFs or you can create them using Glogster. For each of the five fact sheets (one for each period of development) you create, you will need to address the information listed below. The information for each criterion needs to be written as a paragraph(s) that fully addresses the bulleted points below:

1. Explains at least two physical developmental milestones that typically developing children should attain during this period of development.
2. Explains at least two language developmental milestones that typically developing children should achieve in this period of development.
3. Explains at least two cognitive developmental milestones that typically developing children should achieve in this period of development.
4. Explains at least one sign that may signal atypical development during this period of development.
5. Describes at least one strategy that families can use to influence their children’s learning and development during this period of development.
6. Incorporates at least two images that relate to physical, language, or cognitive development for this period of development to enhance the visual appeal of your fact sheets.

If you used Glogster to create your Periods of Development Facts Sheets, you will need to submit a Word document that contains the working links to each of the five Glogster fact sheets that you created. If you created your Periods of Development Fact Sheets as PDFs, make sure to submit each of your PDFs to your instructor. Each fact sheet should be supported by research. A total of at least two additional scholarly sources beyond the text must be utilized. Make sure that you properly format both your in-text citations and reference list according to APA style. A title page is not necessary for this assignment.
