Week 5 Assignment: Discover Your Learning Style

For this assignment, you will take the VARK questionnaire, found here: http://vark-learn.com/the-vark-questionnaire/  to learn about your personal preferences to learning. Be sure to read each of the questions carefully and consider which of the answers best represent your preference (you can choose more than one answer if you feel you learn best in more than one modality). Once you have completed the questionnaire, click OK at the bottom of the screen. This will take you to your results page to review your scores.

Did the results from this report tell you anything you didn’t already know? As you can see from the example above, this learner, like all of us, does not have just one learning preference. We are what is called multimodal learners but we have preferences on how we learn. The example above shows this learner prefers a visual learning and kinesthetic learning experience, but also finds written and aural learning valuable as well.

Write a reflective paper to discuss what you have learned from taking this questionnaire and whether or not you agree with the results. Provide an example of a learning experience for each of the learning preferences: Visual, Aural, Read/Write, and Kinesthetic. You may include a pictorial, video, audio, or other example as it relates to each preference. As a conclusion, discuss whether you think VARK was a valuable tool, and if you would consider using it in your classroom.

Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your paper should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.
